A marine engineer by profession, he graduated in 1975 of BS in Marine Engineering from the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy in Makati City. Jun sailed for fifteen years on various types of vessel including chemical tankers, VLCCs, bulk carriers, and reefer ships of which five of those fifteen years he spent at sea were served as Chief Engineer.

Has been connected with Seabird Ship Manning as Crewing & Training Officer from Jan 2008 to Mar 2008, PHILCAMSAT as Training Instructor from 2005 to 2007.
